ND football announced today that it will play Boise State on October 4, 2025, in Notre Dame Stadium. It will be the first meeting ever between the Fighting Irish and Broncos. The Irish now have 11 of their 12 opponents for 2025 set.

A member of the Mountain West Conference, Boise State finished 8-6 in 2023, 6-2 in the MWC and made an appearance in the 2023 LA Bowl against UCLA.  Since 2002 the Broncos have finished in the AP top 25 13 times, the last time was in 2019. In 2006 they went 13-0 and finished ranked #5 AP and in 2009 they were 14-0 and finished ranked #4 AP. Both undefeated seasons were under their former head coach Chris Peterson.

In 2024, Notre Dame will face Northern Illinois for the first time. Now, with the Boise State game announced, the Irish in their 135 season football history, have faced or scheduled 90 of the 134 Football Bowl Subdivision teams.  

Notre Dame is 32-6 all-time against teams that will comprise the Mountain West Conference in 2024.
