One of ND’s most anticipated games on its 2024 schedule will be aired exclusively on the Peacock streaming platform.
The match-up against the Louisville Cardinals will be a revenge game for the Irish. In 2023 ND went into Louisville as 6.5 point favorites. But, Sam Hartman threw his first interception of the season , and his second and his third and the Irish limped out as 33-20 losers. Louisville went into that game 6-0 and went on to post a final 10-4 season record. The Irish entered it with a 5-1 record and posted a final season slate of 10-3.
Beginning in 2021, one ND game per season has aired exclusively on the NBC network owned Peacock streaming service. But it will be by far the biggest ND matchup ever to air exclusively on the platform. The other Peacock only games have all been games in which the Irish were heavily favored and resulted in victories. In 2021 ND defeated Toledo (32-29), in 2022 the Irish beat UNLV (44-21) and last year the Irish dominated Central Michigan (41-17).
It was announced in December that Peacock will air a season long “Hard Knocks” style documentary on the 2024 ND season. Additionally Peacock has exclusive rights to home ND hockey games. Notre Dame signed a new contract with NBC in the off season and has now had a relationship with the the network since 1991.
The Irish are early 9.5 point favorites to win the Saturday September 28, 2024 match-up against the Cardinals. The game will kickoff in Notre Dame Stadium at 3:30 PM.
