The FIP Poet Strikes again
Seven Games In
All offseason the buzz was immense,
This team has the tools, the drive, the good sense.
CJ Carr, arm so precise,
And a defense built to suffocate twice.
But down in Miami, things they went wrong,
The Irish stumbled before too long.
Then A&M struck late to win,
And season’s doubts came creeping in.
The defense bent, the tackling poor,
Big plays allowed, the fans wanted more.
Chris Ash, the new man teaching the schemes,
Was catching the blame for shattered dreams.
At 0–2, the noise was loud,
The faithful restless, once so proud.
Could this team still find its way?
Or was the year slipping away?
Then Purdue arrived — frustration to end,
The Irish erupted, their will to defend.
Love broke loose, Price made a play,
And hope returned that Saturday.
Arkansas, Boise, NC State they learned,
The Irish defense had finally turned.
Carr grew calm, the offense clean,
The team began to find its mean.
Then came the Trojans — the rival we crave,
A storm-soaked night, the will to be brave.
Rain on the turf, the crowd so loud,
And under gray skies, the Irish proud.
Jeremiyah Love ran wild and free,
Two hundred and twenty-eight yards of history.
And Jadarian Price, he lit up the scene,
A hundred-yard sprint — a moment to gleam!
Now 5–2 with a bye in sight,
Playoff dreams still burning bright.
From early doubts to a midyear climb,
The Irish are rolling at just the right time.
