Notre Dame has released its uniforms for the 2026 Shamrock Series game against the Wisconsin Badgers, and the design gives tribute to both the Fighting Irish and the history of the Green Bay Packers.

The Irish will wear the uniforms on Sunday, September 6th, when they take on Wisconsin at Lambeau Field in what is already a hyped up game. The uniforms have several details inspired by the Packers.

According to Notre Dame’s press release, the uniform striping provides “a subtle nod to the iconic uniform of the Green Bay Packers.” The design also pays tribute to the deep blues worn by the historic 1920s Acme Packers.

Another major detail comes from the jersey numbers, which are inspired by the legendary Paul Hornung era. Hornung is honored through a number design. The jersey also features a custom texture patterned after the Packers famous “oval-G” logo.

The uniform includes a marquee-level nameplate, custom cleats created specifically for the Shamrock Series game, and Notre Dame’s traditional navy and gold color scheme, per Notre Dame. The jerseys will also feature 11 shamrocks, representing Notre Dame’s 11 national championships.

Also, an American flag patch will be on the jersey to recognize the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Notre Dame’s first time taking the field for the 2026 season just got even bigger.
