Tyler Buchner’s stay in the transfer portal did not last long. 48 hours after announcing his transfer from ND he announced on twitter that he will join his former offensive coordinator, Tommy Rees at Alabama.
Alabama was Buchner’s first and only visit. Reportedly other visits had been scheduled, but Head Coach Nick Saban made such a strong impression on him that they were cancelled, and Buchner the Gator Bowl MVP, is now a member of the Crimson Tide.
Buchner enters a quarterback room that looked unsettled after highly regarded prospects Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson, struggled this past spring. Milroe and Simpson were competing to succeed Bryce Young who is expected to be the first overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.
