After an impressive 2026 recruiting cycle, Notre Dame has carried that momentum directly into the 2027 class. Marcus Freeman and his staff have stayed aggressive on the recruiting trail, and that early push is already paying dividends.

The Irish currently hold the No. 5 recruiting class in the country for 2027, according to 247Sports, with 14 commitments already in place. More importantly, Notre Dame continues to position itself squarely in the mix for ore elite national prospects.

Here is a look at some of Notre Dame’s top remaining targets in the 2027 class:

Oluwasemilore Olubobola

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive tackle from Jersey City, New Jersey, is one of the premier offensive line prospects in the country. Olubobola is rated as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 player in New Jersey, and the No. 15 overall prospect nationally in the 2027 class according to 247Sports.

His combination of size, footwork, and athleticism has made him one of the most coveted tackles in the cycle. Momentum in his recruitment has shifted heavily toward Notre Dame in recent weeks, highlighted by a Crystal Ball projection from 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn on May 7.

At this point, the Irish appear to have positioned themselves as the team to beat.

Layton von Brandt

The 6-foot, 281-pound offensive tackle from Middletown, Delaware, is a four-star prospect ranked as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the class and the top overall player in Delaware, per 247Sports.

Notre Dame continues to prioritize building elite offensive line classes, and von Brandt remains one of the staff’s key targets as the Irish work to strengthen the future of the trenches.

Julius Jones Jr.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a four star prospect, is ranked as the No. 12 receiver in the 2027 class and the No. 8 overall player in Florida according to 247Sports.

The son of former Notre Dame running back Julius Jones, Jones Jr. has quickly become one of the most important offensive targets on the board for the Irish staff. Notre Dame gained additional momentum in late April when 247Sports contributor Zach Blostein submitted a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Irish.

Jones is scheduled to announce his commitment on June 27, and right now this recruitment feels tailor-made for Notre Dame.

Simply put, this is Notre Dame’s battle to lose.

Cameron Wagner

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle from St. Joseph, Illinois, is a four-star recruit ranked as the No. 36 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 345 overall player nationally, according to 247Sports.

Wagner is set to announce his commitment on May 11, according to Hayes Fawcett, with Illinois, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame all in contention.

Landing Wagner would further solidify what is already shaping up to be another strong offensive line haul for the Irish.

David Folorunsho

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman from Chicago, Illinois, is one of the most explosive defensive prospects in the class. A four-star prospect, Folorunsho ranks as the No. 3 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 43 overall player in the 2027 cycle according to 247Sports.

His blend of power, quickness, and positional versatility has made him a major priority for Notre Dame’s staff.

Folorunsho is expected to announce his commitment on May 15, according to Hayes Fawcett, with Notre Dame battling Michigan, Texas Tech, Georgia, and Miami for his pledge.

Abraham Sesay

Another four-star, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound edge rusher from Exton, Pennsylvania, ranks as the No. 7 edge defender nationally and the No. 3 overall player in Pennsylvania according to 247Sports.

Sesay’s speed off the edge and upside as a pass rusher make him one of Notre Dame’s top defensive priorities in the class.

Brayden Parks

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound defensive lineman from Chicago, Illinois, is a four-star recruit ranked as the No. 19 defensive lineman nationally and the No. 172 overall player in the country according to 247Sports.

Parks brings size, strength, and physicality to the interior defensive line and continues to remain firmly on Notre Dame’s radar as the Irish build depth up front.

Notre Dame looks to be in strong position with several of these prospects as Freeman and his staff continue stacking momentum on the recruiting trail.

After landing six commitments since April 22, the Irish have clearly carried the energy from the 2026 cycle into the next recruiting class. More importantly, Notre Dame is once again winning battles for elite talent in the trenches — an area that has become a defining characteristic of Freeman’s recruiting success.

If the Irish can close on even a handful of these priority targets over the coming months, Notre Dame will be well on its way toward assembling yet another top-tier recruiting class.
